CAMPUS SIGNAL / 001 LOCKED

FIRST MOTION

“Should attendance be optional?”

PRO ? WAITING 0 / 1
REF CAMPUS OFFLINE
CON ? WAITING 0 / 1
ONE VERIFIED STUDENT STARTS THE BOARD DTV // .EDU

Three moves from
empty to live.

No application theater. The school email is the qualification; the first room is the job.

01

Verify your .edu

Google asks for read-only school directory access so you can find an eligible classmate by name, department, or role after you create a debate. Search never exposes a bulk contact list.

02

Claim your campus

Your school moves onto the founding board and you become its first captain. Create a private room, choose one campus opponent, and put the invitation in your own Mail composer.

03

Start the first room

Bring both sides on camera. REF scores the debate, the verdict becomes the share, and the next rematch has a reason to happen.

The debate makes
the next debate.

DebateTV does not need a million passive signups. It needs the first two people who disagree at the same time. A campus captain creates that first reliable room.

CAPTAIN CONTROL / 01

Run the first rivalry

Topic packs, launch copy, QR links, and a clean room format. DebateTV handles the live room, timer, transcript, verdict, and share page.

02

Founding campus badge

Your profile records that you put your school on the board before there was a board.

03

Rivalry nights

Host sports, culture, tech, philosophy, or campus debates without turning the room into a comment section.

04

Your campus, on tape

Every completed debate produces an explained verdict and a page worth sending to the group chat.

05

First access

New room formats, campus leaderboards, creator partnerships, and launch opportunities come to captains first.

Fine print.
Plain English.

What actually happens when I claim my campus?

We verify your school domain, create the founding campus claim, and send you the captain launch pack. Your first objective is simple: book both sides for one real debate. We do not tell an empty school that it is “live.”

How much work is the captain doing?

You recruit the first room, choose the first rivalry, and host the launch. DebateTV runs the video room, timing, transcript, AI verdict, and share page. After the first room, the verdict and clips help recruit the next one.

Does sign-in give DebateTV my school directory?

Only if you approve the separate Google permission. After you create a private debate room, the DebateTV app lets you search the profiles your Workspace account may see by name, department, or role and choose one classmate for the opposing side. Search results hide email addresses and cannot be bulk-exported. Only after you pick one person do we prepare one personalized invitation in your device's Mail composer; you decide whether to send it. Nothing is auto-sent, no account is created for the recipient, and captains are limited to 10 prepared campus invitations per day. We cannot change the directory, read Gmail or Drive, or post as you. You can revoke access at any time.

Is this only for political debates?

No. Sports, culture, campus life, tech, philosophy, religion, and harmless chaos all belong in the arena. Captains choose topics that fit their school.

Does it cost anything to claim a campus?

No. Claiming the founding spot and running a standard DebateTV room are free. If a future sponsored or ticketed event has a budget, the terms will be stated separately.

Which schools can claim?

U.S. colleges with a working .edu Google account can claim now. If your school uses a different academic domain, email support@debatetv.app and we will verify it manually.

How do you keep rivalry nights from getting ugly?

Debates are face-to-face, timed, recorded, and covered by DebateTV’s community rules. Participants can report or block users, and organizers can remove anyone who cannot argue without attacking the person.

Your school is one
captain from live.

Somebody will start the first room. It should be you.
