Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Debate TV application ("App") operated by Better Apps LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to update it as needed.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

  • The App offers a subscription service ("Debate TV Pro") billed on a weekly basis at $6.99/week through Apple's App Store.
  • A free trial period of 3 days may be offered to new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the free trial ends, you will be charged the subscription price.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing period following notice.

5. User Conduct & Zero Tolerance Policy

Debate TV has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. By using the App, you agree to abide by our Community Guidelines and the following rules. Violations will result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent bans at our sole discretion.

When using the App, you agree not to:

  • Post, share, or transmit any objectionable, offensive, or inappropriate content
  • Use hate speech, slurs, threats, or harassment during debates
  • Share illegal, obscene, or sexually explicit content via video or text
  • Engage in bullying, intimidation, doxxing, or any form of abuse toward other users
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Attempt to manipulate ELO rankings, debate outcomes, or leaderboards
  • Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure or other users' experience
  • Record, screenshot, or redistribute other users' debate content without their consent
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law

Enforcement: We use real-time AI-powered content moderation to detect and flag violations during live debates. All user reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Users who violate these rules will have their content removed and may be temporarily suspended or permanently banned from the platform. Repeated or severe violations will result in immediate account termination.

6. User-Generated Content & Moderation

The App allows users to participate in live video debates. By using the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and transmit your debate content as necessary to operate the App (e.g., transmitting video to your debate opponent, processing audio for AI judging). We do not claim ownership of your content.

You are solely responsible for the content you share during debates. We are not liable for any user-generated content.

Content Moderation: The App employs real-time content filtering to detect objectionable material including hate speech, threats, harassment, and sexually explicit content. Users can report objectionable content and block abusive users at any time during or after a debate. We act on all reports within 24 hours by removing offending content and taking appropriate action against the user who provided it, up to and including permanent account termination.

7. AI Features

The App uses artificial intelligence for debate judging, fact-checking, topic generation, and analysis. AI-generated results (verdicts, scores, fact-checks) are provided for entertainment purposes and should not be considered authoritative or definitive. AI outputs may contain errors or inaccuracies. We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on AI-generated content.

8. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content (excluding user-generated content), features, and functionality are owned by Better Apps LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The Debate TV name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Better Apps LLC.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Better Apps LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
